SNARE DRUM
Materials
Beginning snare drum students should have the following:
- sticks - any large body, big bead (tip) stick is fine. I particularly like the "Graham C. Johns" model from Cooperman.
- snare drum - if you need help acquiring a drum, please let me know.
- practice pad - HQ Percussion "Real Feel" 12-inch model or Remo 10" model would be appropriate.
- stick bag - any model/style
MUSIC
- Beginners
- Stick Control - George L. Stone
- Modern School for Snare Drum - Morris Goldenberg
- Intermediate - as above, plus:
- Portraits in Rhythm - Anthony Cirone
- All American Drummer - Charlie Wilcoxen
- 3-ring binder - for handouts and musical examples discussed in lessons.
- a pencil - please bring a pencil to every lesson and keep one on your music stand at home - you will be expected to mark your music frequently.
- A positive attitude - come expecting to learn and to have fun.
